We are pleased to announce that Nottingham's Jo Sheppard has joined the BakerBaird team. Jo has 20 years of experience as a creative and trusted communications specialist after starting out in various local newspapers and honing her skills in Nottingham City Council's press office soon after graduating. She has most recently worked as a senior Government communications manager, generating extensive coverage across the East Midlands by delivering campaigns such as THINK!, Be Clear on Cancer, Free bus passes for the over 60s, Right to buy and Universial infant free school meals.
Working at the heart of Government, Jo has been part of the Strategic Communications Unit at No 10 Downing Street and been seconded to the Cabinet Office's national communications team three times after being asked for by name.
Being able to efficiently lead others, Jo coordinated the work of nine regional PR teams across the UK for digitally-focused No 10 campaigns. These included Building Britain, Superfast broadband, Exporting is GREAT and the EU/US trade agreement with Jo ensuring that all campaign content was made relevant to local communities, media, partners and businesses.
Jo was part of the team which won a Gold CIPR Pride Award for a youth engagement campaign.
